Which covers do you think are Brilliant and which are bad?
I have to say I love the cover of 'I'm Only Sleeping' by The Vines, I don't know why, I'm a huge Vines fan and have always loved that song.
I'm really not sure about 'Something in the Way she Moves' cover by Elvis. He made it sound alot different but I'm just not sure whether or not I like it, and it's funny because one of my friends is the biggest Elvis fan I have ever known and we argue about it all the time, but I just don't see it, I don't think it is all that good.

I really like these:
"Yesterday" done by Boyz II Men "Happiness is a Warm Gun" done by Tori Amos "Tomorrow Never Knows" done by Our Lady Peace "Across the Universe" by Fiona Apple.
I haven't really heard any bad covers, but these are the ones I like the most...

I love I'm Only Sleeping by The Vines and Tori Amos's Happiness Is A Warm Gun (I love anything Tori does, really.) Actually, pretty much everything on the I Am Sam soundtrack is awesome. I especially like Sarah Maclachlan (spelling..?) doing Blackbird and The Wallflowers' version of I'm Looking Through You. I Am Sam. Sigh. That is a beautiful movie. I could just watch it over and over. Ah, but that's off topic. I definitely don't enjoy the Elvis cover. I've never really been a fan of Elvis. I did hear a cover of Dear Prudence once that I loved, but I could never find who did it. All I remember is that it was a woman singing. Anyone know?

I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of Beatles' covers, only because I think they did them best and it should stay that way, but if I'd have to pick it would be 'Come Together' by Aerosmith.

AHHH RUTLES
All you people who just reacted to that in a way that indicated to me that you know Eric Idle... GO OUT AND SEE THE RUTLES RIGHT NOW
In case you haven't heard of it, it's Eric Idle made a movie about a band that's a TOTAL Beatles ripoff, and then made a mockumentary about it, and it's probably the funniest thing I've ever seen. Neil Innes, Python fans might know him too, is a GENIUS. He's John, and Eric is Paul, and they look just like them, and they have all the mannerisms down and... oh my lord, it's so funny it makes me die. Neil even wrote a full soundtrack of songs that aren't quite Beatles songs, but they subtley sound like them enough that you can always tell what song it's supposed to be. It's AMAZING.

I have the Rutles CD, actually...and I saw the movie back in the day. We have it on DVD at work, but I've been too broke to get it yet. And I heard they made a second Rutles movie but never released it...what gives???

I love Eric Idle before seeing that movie. The person I really have come to love because of it was Neil Innes. He used to be so adorable. Did you know he was in Magical Mystery Tour? I haven't seen that one yet, but he was in it.

Is he really? Now I really, really have to watch it again, because I love him. I've been meaning to ever since people were talking about it on the Favorite Movie thread. I just have to get over the impression I got from it at age 8, which was confusion and slight fear. ;D I promise I'll watch it sometime this week.
