Did anyone watch the Grammys? I think that was the most horrible version of Across The Universe ever. I cried. I like all of those peopel just please leave that song alone.

I liked it. Yeah, it was a bad cover, but it was nice that they did it and they're hopefully going to raise a lot of money for the tsunami relief fund because of it.

I dunno...I mean, I love Stevie Wonder, and I don't mind Norah Jones (because she is Ravi Shankar's daughter) but Billy Joe Armstrong and his pseudo-punk band gets on my nerves. (Greenday...) and I don't remember who else was singing, lol.
They sung it horribly, in my opinion, the timing was off and the pitches were, as well. But I'm glad that millions of people saw it, and I hope it makes alot of money for the Tsunami Relief.

Old thread, hadn't participated. ;D
My favorite Beatles covers:
Across The Universe - Fiona Apple
Hide Your Love Away - Eddie Vedder
I Am The Walrus - Jim Carrey (yes Jim Carrey the comedian... I LOVE his version!) Oasis also did a kickass version of this one.
Happiness is a Warm Gun - Tori Amos
Strawberry Fields Forever - Candy Flip
Helter Skelter - U2 (off the brilliant 'Rattle and Hum')
I Will - Ben Taylor (James Taylor's son... beautiful, true to the original rendition!)
I'm A Loser - Marianne Faithfull
With A Little Help From My Friends - Joe Cocker
Mother Nature's Son - Harry Nilsson
Tomorrow Never Knows - Our Lady Peace
A couple were mentioned previously but I had to list them too since I completely agree with them. I can't say as I can list any really bad ones. Um... well, William Shatner doing "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" is pretty cringe inducing. But he has such a great humor about him. He KNOWS it's bad, and that's what makes it a funny novelty!

The OLP version of Tomorrow Never Knows was fairly good, actually...
I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but Rufus Wainwright's "Across the Universe" is actually pretty wonderful

I LOVE Rufus's Across The Universe. And Fiona Apple's. They both do brilliant jobs on it.
Anyone heard Shawn Colvin doing I'll Be Back? It's great.

Jim Careys I am the Walrus, is hilarious. I love it. And Sean Connery's In My Life. He doesn't sing, he talks it. XDXD

Let It Be by Joan Baez. I love that woman.
Pretty much everything on the I Am Sam soundtrack.
