We're all very emotional people here, I know, and I was just listening to Plastic Ono Band and starting sobbing so once I was done, I started wondering what lyrics make you cry every time? Or at least make you sad or give you chills - I don't have enough tears for every time, but on those kind of sad lyrics, I'll get chills, not just down my back and shoulders, but all the way down my legs as well. So here are some of mine:
From the song 'God' off 'Plastic Ono Band': I was the dreamweaver/But now I'm reborn I was the walrus/But now I'm John And so dear friends/You'll just have to carry on The dream is over
From 'Across the Universe': Nothing's gonna change my world
And the absolute foolproof way to get me to cry, every single time, whether I have tears or not, no matter what, I will curl into a ball and sob: Cold Turkey. The entire song, but mostly the ending bit.
I think there are more, but those are the big ones. If I'm listening to music and I notice any more, I'll let you know.

Definitely Beautiful Boy. I can't help having a pit develope in my stomach everytime I hear that song. I was supposed to be such a happy song, which make it even more sad.

Cold Turkey doesn't make me too emotional, but the end part where John is moaning just puts disturbing images in my head.
The only song I've really cried to is actually the first time I heard Free As A Bird other then the times I heard it on the Anthologies. The fact that John wasn't really there and the others were only playing to one of his demos just hit me and I started sobbing.

'i was feeling insecure, you might not love me anymore...' 'i just belive in me, yoko and me and thats reality' 'i was the walrus, but now i am john' 'some are dead and some are living, in my life ive loved them all' 'they hurt you at home and they hit you at school'
these are just some - Johns lyrics just touch my heart

Yeah, when I said the end bit of Cold Turkey, I meant the bit with the moaning. I one time was listening to Lennon Legend with my friend Emily and it came on, and it was like the middle of the night and we were trying to fall asleep and her eyes got really big, and I started sobbing... After it was over, she looked over at me and said "That was really disturbing for me, but I can't imagine how horrible it must be for you..." because she's not really much of a John fan - she's not big into the Beatles in general but she likes Ringo a lot. It was really horrible. I was still crying a little and she wanted to comfort me but just had nothing to say... It was even worse because it was the same night we went to that Beatles tribute thing and I sobbed during Imagine X.x I guess I'm just very... uhm... emotional?

Imagine, Mother and Free as a Bird always make me cry.....
And even though John moans in the end of Cold Turkey, it's my favorite solo song of his.

Mother makes me extremely emotional. Also, In My Life always brings a little tear, and often Julia does as well. Just Like Starting Over can make me pretty sad too, just because of how optimistic it is and... well, yeah.

Mother used to do the same thing to me, but I learned how to play it on piano, so I have to sing it all the time, and I kind of became immune to it.
Agreed about In My Life, and there's a certain line from Julia I've always liked: "When I cannot sing my heart/I can only speak my mind"

"When I cannot sing my heart/I can only speak my mind" YES. That is my absolute favorite line.

The first time I heard the song, I went back a bunch of times to make sure I heard it right (could it possibly be that awesome?) and then I kept going back just to hear it some more XD

mother - that song just breaks my heart how about how? 'how can i go forward when i dont know which way im facing?' 'you know life can be long, but youve got to be so strong, and the world is so tough, sometimes you feel you've had enough'. I think most people can relate to that song at some point.

"Beautiful Boy" and "Julia" they are both sooo beautiful, and they're so personal to John and it's just so sad. Specually in "Beautiful Boy" when he says "I can hardly wait, to see you come of age" I cried the first time I heard that cause he never got the chance to see that and you know, I feel for him and sean
