My mom and me watched that commercial and I was about to throw something at the screen. She just looked at me and said "I guess he needs that money for defense, eh?" And I just couldn't help it, i bursted out laughing.
But that song and cameras. C'mon. "Images of broken light" it doesn't even work!!
Same with Paperback Writer and the CAR commercial. Agchkk Whatever Michael.

There's one that's a commercial for cameras and they are singing "images of broken light which dance before me..." and the other one is a car commercial that is singing "paperback writer" like the chrous of the song. It's a horrible version too. It's like the B52's clashing with great lyrics. Something that shouldn't happen.

I actually like the song Say Say Say with him and Paul, but honestly, I think it's because I gave it some slack because it's Paul, y'know?

As far as that famous Lennon/McCartney credit goes, it just ended up being a blanket credit for all the songs. There are songs that one had more stake in writing than the other... say one did all of it but left a few holes. The other would perhaps add the middle eight or suggest things here and there. I was never really clear on how the two of them wrote... in the early days they very much wrote together, but I could have sworn I saw it written somewhere that later they didn't write eyeball to eyeball like that much any longer. I'm not really clear on the agreement reached by John and Paul about the credit, but I'm getting the idea that it's not ALL of the songs that Paul wanted the credit changed, but a few of the ones he had a larger stake in writing. He really did write most if not all of Yesterday so it's more his song than John's... I don't mind the credit being reversed there and don't really understand why Yoko would be so picky about the credit on that particular song... maybe it's just the idea and she was thinking about the credit agreement. Okay now about Michael Jackson and the catalog. I was really pissed when he bought it right out from under Paul, blatantly outbidding everyone for the catalog. ATV has since merged with Sony, and it's looking more and more like Jackson will be forced to sell to cover some of the financial problems he's dealing with right now. Maybe this will add insight: www.snopes.com/music/artists/jackson.htmI am rambling, and hope I made some coherent sense. LOL

Oke, but where does this fit in the Jacson thread, or did I miss something again?

^ I modified my response above to add something ( relevant to the topic) that I posted before I realized I hadn't mentioned. I was addressing as well other posts that were talking about the songwriting credit. ;D
