For the next week the lads and Lauren went and visited Paul, bringing him food and books to read. Hewas now able to sit up and talk.
"Y'know, Lauren as soon as I get out of here I'm going to take you home and kiss you till the cows come home." Paul said taking Lauren's hand and grinning. he had missed the feel of her hand in his.
Lauren blushed "okay, I'll be waiting."
Visiting hours were over, so they had to leave Paul once again, but with a lttle more excitement. They knew tomarrow he was being released!
Lauren went right to Paul's bed room when she got home and fixed it up for him. Everything was perfect, she'd gotten Paul a sheep dog puppyas a suprise. He'd told her he'd always wanted one. She fell asleep with the little puppy next to her.
The first thing Lauren did was go straight to the hospital, but when she got to Paul's room it was empty. She turned to a nurse and asked "Excuss me, where is the lad who was in here?"
The nurse looked at her with sympathy "He's passed on miss, I'm sorry."

O!!!  OMG!! Damn, i have to go soon...but I really want to read the rest. Now i'm gonna have to wait till tomorrow to see if it's just a mistake or if paul really is dead.  And I love the way you put "martha" in your story. ;D |

Lauren turned and walked out, it was raining and Martha was whinning. THey went to the park and sat under a tree. Martha hudled in Lauren's lap.
"He's dead." Lauren thought to herself. She didn't care that her cloths were now drenched.
" Now why on earth is such a lovely girl sitting out in the rain?" came a familar voice. She looked up to see Paul standing over her with an umbrella.
"But you're dead." Lauren said standing up with Martha in her arms.
"I'd think I'd know if i were dead." Paul smiled. he saw the small sleeping fur ball in Lauren's arms. "What's all this then?" He asked.
"Oh this is your dog, I bought it for you." Lauren said handing the sleeping bundle to him."Her name's Martha."

Yay!!!! I'm glad I could convince my boyfriend to wait a minute for me so i could see if he was dead or not. He's not dead!! But why didn't he call he to pick him up?  |

"Martha, I like that." Paul said giving Lauren a kiss. "I've missed that." He said
"So have I."Lauren said with a shiver.
"Oh, we need to get you home!" Paul said taking off his coat and wrapping it around Lauren and Martha.
"There we are."Paul said setting a cup of tea next to Lauren when they got home.
"So why didn't you tell me you were released?" Lauren said as Paul sat down and put his arm around her.
"Because love, I wanted it to be a suprise."
"Then how come the nurse said you were dead?"
"Oh, that must have been the gent that they put in my room. He was really bad."
"I'm just glad you're home." Lauren said kissing him on the cheek.
"I'm happy to be home." Paul said with a smile. He looked over at Martha. She was play with a ball on the floor and having a gear time.

" So how'd you get her?" Paul asked looking back at Lauren who had rested her head on his shoulder.
"Oh,I remembered you wanted one and she was the only one left." Lauren said she quickly sat up and apologized for not thinking.
Paul smiled and said "No, I liked the feeling of your head on me shoulder."

Lauren rested her head back on his sholder. Martha, who had now want some attention from Paul, had hopped up on his lap and lay down. He smiled
"I've got my two favorite girls with me right 'ere." He said kissing the top of Lauren's head and petting Martha. Lauren loved having Paul back and able to talk. She'd missed that smooth voice that played around with her emotion.
"Lauren,"Paul said as he felt her head get heavy. He figured that she was asleep. He picked her up and carried her to her bedroom, where he set her down. She had a hold of his arm. As he tried to get him arm she said "Paul don't leave me, last time you did that you ended up in the hospital." She had a point
"Lauren I promise I won't leave." He said laying next to her and putting his arm around her. She drifted back to sleep, knowing both of them were safe. Martha didn't want to be left out so she hopped up and fell asllep on Paul's chest.

Paul soon fell asleep himself, the past week really took it out of Lauren and him. He thought of how he hadn't seen the car comming straight at him and how the first person he wanted was Lauren.
When Paul woke up again he found Martha was still asleep but Lauren was gone. He pick the dog up and went looking for Lauren. He found her down stairs in the kitchen.
"So what are you making?" Paul said coming up behind her.
" Chicken soup." She said with a smile showing him the can."You go sit down. It will be ready in about 10 minutes. "
"Okay, but not before I tell you I love you." Paul said brushing his lips against her cheek.
He walked off and lay on the living room floor.
He played tug of war with her. She was a very cute dog.
"Paul, it's ready." Lauren said as she set it on the table. She saw him playing with the dog and this made her smile. He was so cute.
Paul got up and sat at the table.
"Wow, you can really make can of soup." Paul said jokingly
"Oh you're to kind." She said giving him a shove.
It was a good feeling having him safe under his own roof.
