In the film Gigantic, a documentary on They Might Be Giants (My true fave band!), there is a whole scene where John Linnell is compared to Lennon and Flansburgh to McCartney. Then Flansburgh expressed concern that the fans will change their opinion of them now that they know TMBG has heard of the Beatles. Then Linnell says...
"Well, we are the shitty Beatles."
Also, there are a lot of Beatles references in all of Radiohead's recent music, for example, song titles like "I Will" and "Paperbag Writer", and lines within songs.. like, the first line of "I Am A Wicked Child" is "Mother Mary come to me..."
Any occurances with other bands worth mentioning?

Radiohead also has an ep called Help!
Not to mention their Karma Police track.

There's a Tori Amos lyric in the song Mrs. Jesus that goes, "The gospel changes meaning if you follow John or Paul, and could you ever let it be the Mary of it all..." I find the double meaning nifty.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have an EP, "Abbey Road." I've never listened to it or anything. But the cover is, er, interesting.

In The Who's song Seeker they say "I asked Bobby Dylan I asked The Beatles..." I just think its nifty. XD

Another Tori Amos lyric, from the song Happy Phantom. "... I'd wake up in Strawberry Fields every day..."
God, I love Tori.

Dave Matthews - Christmas Song....in this one acoustic version at the end he goes
"All you need is love, love, love...can't buy me love, love, love..."
I think it's nice

Man, I remember when Oasis was cool..
And they pretty much ripped everything off the Beatles....and one time Noel said that Oasis was bigger and better than the Beatles.
Shaw....riiigghhhttt.....as if!
buuuttt...on a side note rounding back to the topic at hand, Jet's song "Look What You've Done" is very Beatles-esque......check it out!

Yeah, that Jet song is basically ten Beatles songs all mashed together. XD
I do love it, though.
