I'm going to London on April 6th and I wanted to ask you if there are any important Beatles related places I absolutely have to see? Besides Abbey Road, I'm going there anyway.
I think I remember visiting a website with a list of all those locations a long time ago, but I don't remember anything of that list..

*The Apple office...where they did the rooftop performance. At 3 Savile Row. *The place they filmed the opneingscene for AHDN IS AT Melcombe Place, adjacent to Marylebone Station. *The Hard Rock Cafe at 150 Old Park Lane has a vault beneath its shop which contains many items of rock memorabilia. You can see John Lennon's original handwritten lyrics to 'Imagine' and 'Instant Karma' and the glasses and jacket which he wore during a Beatles concert in New York City. There is also a gold disc which was presented to the group after their album Lonely Hearts Club Band had achieved sales worth 1 million dollars in the US. Within the Hard Rock Cafe's restaurant you can see the drum kit used by Ringo Starr before he joined the Beatles. * Brian Epstein died in August 1967 from a drugs overdose while living in his London home at 24 Chapel Street. * Paul's music publishing company - MPL Communications - is in Soho Square Pffff, I dont know more. I'm going to Liverpool this summer. And though the place is All Beatle-ish....it's so hard to choose where to go and what to see. We've got just 5 days to see it all. I hope you'll have fun in London.

- The Indica Gallery, it's in Mason's Yard - The London Palladium, Argyll Street - Chiswick Park (where they filmed Paperback Writer/Rain videos)...this location isn't in the city centre, so tell me if you're interested in visiting it and I'll explain you how to go there! - If you want to go Beatle-shopping, go to the London Beatles Store...231, Baker Sreet.

Haha, cool I just posted about this in the Pictures thread. I'd say Chiswick House is a must see- check out the pictures I took. This book: ( www.beatlesinlondon.com/Beatles_London_Guide.htm) is THE book. It tells you how to get to all the Beatle related sites in London. I never would've found/known about most of them without it. I bought it from the Abbey Road gift shop. Hope that helps Take lots of pictures when you go!

I just returned from London about two weeks ago. Unfortunately it was with a group, so I didn't get go by a lot of sightings. I did however, cross Abbey Road, but I didn't get the chance to go to the studio. I did pass the old Apple offices on Baker Street, and went to the Beatles store there as well. I'm sure I also passed several places where 'A Hard Day's Night' was filmed without even realizing it. If it's easier, you can always book tours online, or purchase tickets from the Hard Rock Cafe or the London Beatles Store. Anyways, I wish the best of luck to whoever's going in the future. I think it will be one of the most formidable experiences for anyone.

Well, I came back today. Thank you all so much for your suggestions, it was really awesome. I couldn't go everywhere, we were only there for a week after all, but I visited some places. I just started uploading my pictures, here are the first few: This was hanging in a restaurant called The Minories, right across the Tower. It was raining like mad and we fled into the first place we saw and there it was. While we were waiting for our food, I was really getting into all kinds of wild fantasies about them having been there and maybe they even sat on the same chair... But then my Dad asked the waitress and she told us that the signatures weren't real. Ah well. I would have loved to believe... This is 3 Savile Row. It looks pretty much exactly like back then. Except there's a building on the left missing. Well, this one goes without an explanation. ;D More to follow. My digi cam died on the flight there, so I took most of the pics with my fathers camera, which is so much better, which is why the pics are huge and I probably have to resize them first.
