if anyone tries to tell you that the beatles suck just say - 'when YOU get a band together and make music that is legendary for over 40 years then you can comment!' - that should shut them up!

Totally! That's too true. Last time someone said beatles suck compared to "___" (whatever was popular at the time, psh.. :  I was just like, yeah well, the beatles influenced them, so shut the hell up, okay? However...it didn't work because this person is most persistent. oh well. I don'talk to them anymore. ;D That rocks that you have 5 beatles shirts! I only have one. but I plan to get several..soon. when I actually have money. |

If I get to count Lennon shirts, I have 5 as well. But the one I can't really wear in the winter 'cause it's babydoll so I can't layer it.

I have to admit my friends don't really understand the obsession either. My best friend just tries to fire me up, she goes - "but why are they the greatest band in the world? Have you heard every band in the world?" and I get all angry... it's like, "They just are!" Lol Can I be really dumb for a moment and ask a stupid question - what does XD mean?  I've been trying to work it out for awhile now! |

XD is a little smiley. Turn your head on its side. See it?  And I get the crap CONSTANTLY bagged out of me for my love of The Beatles. Which is partly why I love it here so much, because it's the only place I can go where people my age are into the same music as me... ;D |

I've got the same feeling. People often judge you by the music you like. They simply can't understand that most of teh bands they like were influenced by the Beatles or that those bands are fans of the Beatles themselfs. |

hey Zap, this kid at school has that beatles shirt, but it doesnt look like he likes 'em. And i heard that this girl came up to that kid and told him "Cool, I like the rolling stones" and then hes like " you idiot its the beatles" When i wear my beatles shirts only one of my friends says " the beatles suck!" but hes my friend an hes just playin...I hope. One time I was wearing my beatles shirt at school and this girl said "cool i like the beatles" but i wasnt paying attention cause i was almost late to class.I wonder who it was.  |

Oh, I know this topic is ancient but I've only been around for a few weeks... I just wanted to say the exactly the same thing as everyone has already said . This board rocks my orange Dhani socks. Really, most people do form conceptions of what is cool and what is not without much knowledge at all. That's the case with everyone I know at school. I guess it happens everywhere. But I've noticed a strange something about Beatles fans: they are quite open-minded. The fact that they are able to embrace the music of generations past makes them open to alot of old ideas that still hold true. Thanks girls and guys (in the case of Icee ;D ). This board allows me to painlessly express sentiments which cause major groans and supreme eye-rolls everywhere else on the planet. Example: we all live in a yellow submarine. -no eyerolls or groans...hehe!- Thanks |
