For those of you who don't know, I work at the best damn public radio station in the state. They do a half-hour uninterrupted Beatles medley every Sunday night, and it's the greatest thing ever. Partly because of the announcer/producer dude. He has theeeeee greatest speaking voice on the planet. It's all deep and gravelly and I just about pass out every time I hear it. He's a good friend, a great guy--one of the nicest people I know. Here's the link if anybody's ever interested in listening (you can listen on the website anywhere on the planet). It's 8:06pm--8:36pm Sunday nights, Central time. It says "Listen to KUNI or KHKE Live", and the one you're looking for is KUNI. www.kuniradio.org/kunilive.htmHere's some information on the announcer guy. It mentions his most famous night on-air, the night John Lennon died: www.theblueband.com/bobdorr.htmlAnd, just for the heck of it, you can listen to Bob's band here--there's a few Beatles songs on there. His voice sounds all high and funny 'cause it's over the computer but here it is. www.theblueband.com/bluemusic.htm

Urgh, I HATE it when they don't call snow days and they should. Frustrating. I LOVE working at the station! It's a ton of fun. Even though everyone that works there is at least ten years older than me (there's only one that's 26, the rest are 40 and over), we're all the best of friends. We all always have to remind ourselves to get back on task, because we gab so much. I hardly ever see Bob, the guy who does the medley there, though. He's "the weekend guy", and is rarely there during the day. I see him whenever I see his band play, though...he likes to put my name in songs. ;D The best thing he ever did for me, though, is an entire song just for me, called Hang Tough. He said "This one's for Abbey (lastname)." I have the lyrics, which I'll post sometime, but it's about how not to let yourself get down. I looooove it, and I just adore him.

I wish I could work in radio...
My school has a TV station, and I -really- want to work in it, but I'm always so afraid to go there because I'd be one of the only few freshman and I only really know one kid there... which, in some cases would make it better, but it makes it worse because I have a crush on him so it would make me even MORE nervous. Someday, though, I'm going to do it. I hope.

Of course you, Crow. At least I think so. NEWSFLASH: The guy I mentioned, Bob, will not be the host Sunday night, but the medley will still take place as usual. He's doing a special edition of his Saturday night show, though, this one's called Ladies' Night...each hour is hosted by a different lady. I think he'll still be on a bit, though...if you hear an amazing deep voice, that's him. I'll get back to you on what time, I'll have to ask him...I always forget what time that starts. He'll be back as usual next Sunday for the medley, though.

Haha, I used to LOVE that movie. OMG, someone thought I WAS hosting something! I'm not, but that'd be cool. I'm not old enough. He said the lady that was doing the Beatle part was the one he considered to be "one of the most knowledgable women about the Fab Four" (me being the other). He never said her by name, and at least six people assumed it was me! They're like, "So is it you that's hosting the Beatle part of the show on Saturday?" I said no, but was very glad that they thought it was me.
