Hm, I forgot where I read it... maybe Anthology? Anyway the line about "damn good whacking" in Piggies made that psycho think the Beatles were telling him to kill people. Same thing with Helter Skelter. When he killed the people... he wrote the lyrics on the wall with their blood....... *shiver* so creepy....

Didn't he even write a letter to them at one point? I'm not sure, but for some reason that popped into my head. -shrug-

The REALLY bizarre thing about the Helter Skelter song is that it's really about a roller coaster, I think.
I used to ALWAYS skip WithinYou WithoutYou cos it was my favorite album and I didn't like Indian music right away. But now I Luv it.
I have to admit a LOT of laddy songs are overplayed. They used to annoy me (before I started liking the lads) but now I like to play them... to a point.
Anyway, I dont really like Helter Skelter, Rev 9... the randomly bizarre heavymetalish songs.
I do like Piggies- keep in mind that my parents used to play me a "kid-friendly" mix of the White Album, and that was there, so it's a fun nolstalgic song... takes me back to sitting in the car with my family and everybody singing along... awww. (Now I listen to everything on there)

That's what most Beatles albums do for me, remind me of being little, riding somewhere in the car. Especially Rubber Soul, Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, and The White Album. Ours weren't kid-friendly, though, we just listened to everything.

The REALLY bizarre thing about the Helter Skelter song is that it's really about a roller coaster, I think. I think it's a slide that goes around and around. If you watch the "Free as a Bird" video, they show one at one point. There's a kite next to it for "Mr. Kite," I remember. That's always cracked me up. Paul wanted to write a really heavy, rocking song that would top the Who, so he wrote about.... playground equipment, hehe. Yet it worked so well! I love that song.

I understand the nostalgia thing - like me and Octopus's Garden. My mom used to sing it to me as a lullaby when I was a baby!
Helter Skelter is hysterical - I love it.
Mr Kite freaks me out bad

Actually, a song that rather freaks me out (though I love listening to it anyway) is Run For Your Life. The lyrics are just a bit stalker/obsessive boyfriend-y...
you know,
"I'd rather see you dead, little girl/Than to be with another man..."
TEENY bit unsettling.

Yeahhh... I remember when I was first learning A Hard Days Night - As much as I love the song 'You Can't Do That', I couldn't help thinking, "Didn't I learn about people like this when we were doing the abusive relationships unit in health?"

About Charles Manson, I don't like to think about that, because I can't let one man ruin my liking for songs. What he did was horrible, I think how they reacted...having people do that to with you're songs. Wow, I would need therapy. John admitted that he didn't like the lyrics to that song. So that makes me feel better . I like the muisical part of it though.

John had a lot of problems when he was younger that he admitted and apologized for when he got older. He was just hot-headed, I think, but I give him credit for admitting his mistakes, most men I know aren't capable of that XD
