I'm listening to Anthology 3 right now and was wondering, what are some songs that you love the Anthology version of?
The version of Something on here just makes me cry, it's so pretty. And all of them cracking up during And Your Bird Can Sing is hilarious. I love it.
What else?
Oh, the best thing ever - at the end of Let It Be, John says, "I think that was rather grand. I'd take one home with me. Let's track it. *gasp* You bounder! You cheat!" It makes me laugh so hard. ;D

Well...umm. I definitely love the version of Across the Universe. I also really like Moonlight Bay on the first Anthology.

The Anthology series is the greatest. I'm in love with the version of "Across the Universe" on Anthology 2... It's so pretty, so natural. I also really like "A Day In The Life" on Anthology 2 and "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away" (you can really hear the Dylan influence is that take). And also, George's "All Things Must Pass" demo on Anthology 3 is simply gorgeous.

Yes, I love that version of Across the Universe, maybe even better than the one on Let It Be.
The other great thing about You've Got To Hide Your Love Away is the little part at the beginning - "Paul's broken a glass, broken a glass, broken a glass, a glass, a glass he's broke today. " ;D

Let's see... I bloody love those albums...
I love the a cappella version of Because. I love the strings-only Eleanor Rigby. I love love love the version of Blackbird, more than the real one probably. I love that if you listen to it late at night, or really whenever it's very quiet, you can hear the sound of his fingers rubbing up against the strings.
And of course, the funniest thing I've ever heard, the broken-a-glass intro thing on You've Got To Hide Your Love Away. It's funny, because the first time I heard that, I was at camp, and I played it for my friend Julie. Later, we were doing trust walks (that's when one person is blindfolded, and the other person has to walk them around camp) and she was near me, and she was blindfolded and I wasn't, and all of a sudden we hear the tinkling of broken glass. And she yells "Has someone broken a glass?!" so I looked around, and I saw one of our favourite counselers, Pete, struggling with what looked like... a glass jar full of water and rocks... that he'd just shattered. And I bust out into "Pete's broken a glass, broken a glass. Pete's broken a glass, a glass, a glass he's broke today." And me and Julie are cracking up and practically rolling around on the ground, and everyone else is looking at us like we're TOTALLY insane. Good times.

Thanks. I'm always nervous when I tell stories that they're gunna suck. Half of my stories end with "I guess you had to be there"

Oh, yes, that's a great one. I love where he just goes off about it... "He was really schminking of gin.. it did him in in the end... meantime, back on the table!"
