This made me cry
On the night John Lennon died, a little-known Irish band was playing a small club in my town. About twenty people were there. The name of the band was U2. After the show, a man staggered up to Bono and announced to him, "John Lennon's been shot!"
Bono looked at him with disgust and said, "That's a sick joke, man."

Sorry, I just read it in the newspaper and I just didn't know what to do with this new piece of information which was really blowing my mind. I had to get rid of it, and I get rid of it by telling it to other people. It just... euchhhh... makes me sick. I mean, John, Bob Dylan and Bono are the three musicians I respect most in the world... and, oh lord, it... it was right here, that was how it happened and it was right hear... dear god... dear GOD...

Well most of us weren't even born when the tragedy happened. But imagine what you would say in such situation. Would you believe it immediately?? I know I won't. I'm really scared what i would do if I hear paul is.....well I don't want to think about it.
It's sad...

Its the same with both RIngo and Paul. The world will be shocked and saddened, and some two-bit band who were influenced by the Beatles will be playing the same night as Paul or Ringo's death and they'll all say that isn't cool to say.
It's the way the world works. Even if it's some rap group they won't believe it at first, because everyone grew up listening or hearing or learning about the Beatles.
I'm happy to know that a singer of a band that I really don't like actually cared about Johnny.

Yeah... Paul and Ringo and, for me anyway, Yoko, really... I just have no IDEA how I would react to that... Although I have to admit I'm kind of expecting Yoko to outlive me at this point.
I'm surprised I'm the only person here who apparently loves Bono and U2

Yes, Yoko for me too. I love her very much, I really do, and it'll be just as sad as Ringo or Paul for me. ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png)

Wow....very interesting piece of information...
But I can see Bono reacting that way, because he and John had/have the same ideas when it comes to the world.
And Crow, deary, you're not the only one that likes Bono and U2. *slight smile*

Yeah, Patty, that's what I thought too, but at the same time, back in 1980, Bono hadn't done much. Still, it doesn't mean the ideas weren't there.
And Emma, that's it exactly. And even beyond that, Yoko is kind of my constant, do you know what I mean? It's like, no matter what kind of crazy shit is going on in the world, Yoko's just there, doing her thing.

Oh, exactly, Crow! I just love that she's still there, promoting peace, and being awesome. On a random note, she has an art piece at the Detroit art museum, and I love going there just to look at it. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
