finally:
Jane sighed. "This is is a.. fucking..disaster.” Paul, shocked at her swearing, stuttered, “I know. Especially with our relationship the way it is.”
“No!” She shouted angrily. “I meant for my career. This will ruin everything. Paul, what the hell am I going to do? Paul!” She burst into hoarse tears. Paul heard the dial tone.
“Ja-Jane?” Paul whispered into the emptiness of the phone. He slowly hung up, bewildered by her actions. He thought she loved him. Apparently not enough to marry him, or have his kid. Maybe this was just enough to brighten up the relationship, bring them back together. He smiled hesitantly, and sunk onto the floor, crossing his legs and placing his head in his hands. “What’ll she do about it, then? She can’t do…anything.” He wondered out loud.
He suddenly cleched his fists and ran his hands through his hair violently. “Jesus fucking christ!” he shouted. “What the ‘ell is her problem?” He jumped up and paced the empty apartment, kicking the wall and leaving scuff marks.
He wandered around to the refrigerator that was mirroring his apartment, and grabbed a bottle of vodka that lay in the back. He opened it and chugged some, savouring the burning sensation that spread down his throat. He tossed the bottle on the floor and marched back over to the main room, a little unsteadily, and fell over onto the ground again. He peered up at the ceiling.
A big pink hippo reappeared in his vision, laughing. “Shaddup, ye fucker.” Growled Paul. “Yer life is no better than mine, y’hear? No better!”
He closed his eyes and cleared his mind of his problems, that just seemed to overwhelm him.

The hippo stared down at Paul, as if Paul was nothing. "Yer such a fuckin' waste of time" The hippo said sighing, laying down next to him. "Tell me about it" Paul replied. "So how was your day?" Paul said, turning to the Hippo. The Hippo's expression didn't change. "Ye should stop takin' that fucking shit Paul, it's tearing you up. You need to get back on yer feet, be a fuckin' man" The Hippo sneared at him.
Paul suddenly snapped back to reality. He was laying on the cold, hard floor. There was no Hippo. How could there be a Hippo in an apartment in Liverpool? He sighed, and stood up. In any case, the hippo was completely right. If he was going to have this child with Jane he would have to put all of his effort into changing his ways, of course it would take a while, all of his effort was robbed from him with that last trip.
He walked into the bathroom, and took a long hot shower. When he got out, he felt freshed and replenished. He took a nap, and when he woke up, he felt alot better than he had for a while, since...well, probably since the first track come out.
He got dressed, and he looked sharp. He thought he did anyway, what Jane thought was well beyond him. He just hoped she was in a happier mood since the last time he had spoke to her. He remembered the phone call, and how things had gone down hill. This was going to take a while to fix, but it had to be done.
He straightened his tie, and stood upright in the mirror. "Well, here goes" He thought to himself. He ran downstairs and out into the street. "Now where would she be?" He mumbled to himself softly causing a group of girls nearby to notice who he was. After running for about a mile, the girls had given up, and started to walk away, by this time, he had already reached the front of Janes house. He puckered up some of the courage he still had left, and knocked on the door. Footsteps headed towards the door as the butterflies that were fighting each other commensed in his stomach.
"Paul?" Jane asked, looking him up and down. "Where are you going?" She asked looking up at him. "Nowhere.." He said, staring into her eyes. Memories flooded back, and he tried hard to stop them. "Come in" She sighed gently, opening the door to let him in. "What would you like?" She said, taking a seat in a kitchen chair infront of her dining table. "I'd like to sort things out" He said, lying his hands out flat on the table. She reached over and took hold of them, they were cold, and shaking. "Paul, last time you tried it didn't go to well" She said, frowning. "I know, but I want to change for you. I'm not perfect, and niether are you. But we just need to figure things out to make it work" He said, his voice more shakey than his hands now.
"What if I don't want this child Paul?" She said, staring down to the floor avoiding his worried eyes. "I'd still want to be with you" He said, leaning in closer to her. "We agreed this was over" She said, not taking her eyes away from the ground. "I was an idiot, and i realise now, that I have to change my ways in order to make this work, and I'm willing to do that" He said, staring at her.

"I would like things to get better Paul. But you have no idea what you put me through. You're attitude is shit! You treat me like shit. Oh, Janes not here, hey that means I can do any fucking girl I want" She started yelling. "I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry" He whimpered gently. "And you should be" She began to calm down a little. "Are you sure your pregnant?" He frowned. She stared at him. "I'm.....I'm not entirely sure no" She said, turning to look at the ground. "Brrrrrrring" The phone rang. "Don't answer" Paul said, putting out his hand.
She pushed him, and picked up the phone. "Jane girl, guess what?" A excited voice on the other end yelled to her. "Uhh......what?" She asked in reply. "RINGO JUST ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM" She yelled so loud Jane pulled the phone away from her ear. "Well that's just great, look Maureen, I'm kind of busy right now,I will call you back later, sorry" She said, slamming down the phone after her. "What was that?" Paul asked. "Uh, Ringo just asked Mo to marry him" "Wow...." Pauls eyes bulged. "Well, do you want me to marry you?" Paul asked. "What!?" She shrieked. "Do you?" He asked again.

more! 2 in one day! wooot!
She frowned. “What do you think, Paul. I asked you for some space, and you keep coming back and pushing me into things I don’t want. You don’t understand what I want!” He sighed and lay his head on the table. Things just got worse and worse. He heard Jane get up and put on the kettle, then enter the room again. He lifted his head, wearily. She came up beside him and knelt down.
“I’m sorry, Paul. If I’m not pregnant then we have to break it off. This just can’t go on, this giantic circle of anger and mistrust. You don’t understand that I’m not the usual girl, I don’t want to settle down and have a few kids right in the middle of my career. No, I need to keep doing what I do best, and Paul,-” here she stopped and looked searchingly into his eyes, “I can’t do it with you holding me back.”
He stumbled to his feet drowsily, and she rose and took his hands. Unsmilingly she looked up at him, and took his hands.
“I’m so sorry.” She whispered. She let his hands drop to his sides, and stroked his cheek softly. He smiled doubtfully and wandered out the door, feeling as if he was in a dream. He stopped and turned as he reached the gate, then saluted the house, with a determined look on his face.
He found himself in his car, with the engine running. He looked around himself, then thought for a minute. Who would he go to who would listen to him, for once? George, maybe. If he told him what happened.
He nodded to himself, and drove off, humming sadly.
