When they got outside Paul broke down. He started crying like a baby and Jantina couldn’t do anything but hug him.
“He’s going to be okay, Paul.” She said.
“I know he is. But seeing him there…like that. It’s breaking my heart Jan.” he said kissing her on the forehead. “Come on, let’s go see the others.”

The others were sitting in a room drinking some coffee and they all looked up as they saw Paul and Jantina walking in.
“We heard Sarah is going to be okay, but John is pretty bad…” Ringo said.
Paul turned his head down. He couldn’t say anything. So Jantina sat down and started informing the others. About what Sarah said and yelled.
The others all sat there listening. Though the nurse had told them about John and Sarah already, they all wanted to know about John and Sarah.

After half an hour George Martin and his wife Joanna got up.
“We’re going home. George has got some other band planned in the studios tomorrow and we need some sleep. Will you let us know when there’s more news?” Joanna asked.
Paul and Ringo nodded. As they watched George Martin and his wife Joanna leave, Olivia got up and went to the nurses desk. She stood there for a while and exchanged words with one of the nurses, but when she came back, there was a sad look on her face.
“Still no progression for John…and still no one allowed.” Olivia said.
Paul looked at Jantina.
“If you are tired….you can go home. I mean…. I think I’m going to stay here.” Paul said.
“Go home? Never, I go home when John wakes up and when I know for sure everything’s okay!” Jantina said.
“Maybe we can get us something to eat.” Hannah said. “Liv? Jan? Are you coming?”
Though they really wanted to stay there to be informed about their friends, they also though it was good to let the boys be together.

Only 15 minutes after the girls had left, the nurse came walking in the room.
“Okay…miss Lennon is going to be okay. We think she needs her friends though to get through the terrible loss of the baby. We couldn’t save him.” The nurse said.
George, Paul and Ringo looked at each other.
“So it would have been another son?” George asked. The nurse nodded.
“John would have loved to have another son.” Ringo said quite sadly.
“Losing a child, even an unborn one is very hard, for everybody involved, but especially for the parents. We ask you to be there for your friends.” The nurse said looking at the three of them.
“Oh but we will.” Paul said. “John and Sarah are like family. We’ll be there.” Paul paused and then said: “But…you’re saying John is going to be okay?”
The nurse nodded. “Yes, but it will take a long time, till he’s the old mister Lennon again. Performing…well that isn’t possible for quite a while.” She said.
They all looked each other kind of shocked.

“Oh hell guys. I think John’s health is more important than performing.” Ringo said. Paul and George agreed.
The nurse looked up when another nurse came in and whispered something in her ear. The nurse started smiling. “Good news guys. Mister Lennon is awake.”
“Oh my God!” Paul yelled getting up and bumping his head to a bookshelf that was hanging above his seat. “Ouch!”
George and Ringo grinned. “Can we go see them?” Ringo asked.
“Well normally, only two are allowed.” The nurse said looking at them.
“Oh well, that’s okay.” Paul said. “You can go now.”
“No Paul…you come with us. Can he come?” George asked the nurse and she nodded.

The three of them were walking towards the room.
“Ringo, let go of me hand!” George said pushing Ringo.
“Oh well, I’m kind of scared.” Ringo said letting George’s hand go. “I don’t know what to expect.”
“It’s like he’s sleeping.” Paul said. “Well, it was. I mean he’s awake now.” He said smiling.
Paul opened the door and let Ringo and George in and followed them, closing the door behind him.

George bounced back a little when he saw John. John saw them and winked with his non-black eye.
“Hi there Johnny.” Ringo said and he smiled.
John tried to smile back, but his lip was so swollen, they couldn’t really tell it was a smile.
“So how are you feeling now? Are you in a lot of pain?” George asked.
“Err, mister Harrison. He won’t be able to speak just yet.” The doctor in the room said.
George looked at him and understood. “It’s going to be okay John.” He said.
John turned his head a little to look at Paul. He tried to smile again. He saw Paul standing there with tears in his eyes.
“Man, you don’t believe how glad I am you’re awake again Johnny.” Paul said.

“Paul?” Sarah said looking around. “Are you here? Where’s Jan?”
Paul turned around and walked to Sarah her bed.
“Yes, I’m here. Jan will be here soon. She’s getting something to eat. George and Ringo are with me. And…your hubby is awake.” He said smiling.
Sarah tried to sit up and called John’s name.
“John? Are you awake? I love you.” She said while a tear ran down on her face.
John turned his head to his left and saw his wife sitting there. He reached out for her, but they were too far away from each other.

“Wait.” George said. He got up and he and Paul pushed Sarah’s bed towards John’s so they could hold each other’s hand.
“Hey, that’s not allowed!!” the doctor yelled.
“Not allowed? Not allowed?” Ringo said angry, walking to wards the doctor. “I think they’re allowed to hold each others hand. They’re lucky to be alive!” he said punching his finger to the doctor chest a couple of times. “They’ve lost their child for crying out loud!”
John’s eyes got wide and he looked at Sarah.
“Ringo!!!” George and Paul both yelled giving him an angry look.
Sarah looked at John and nodded.
“Yes, love. We’ve lost our unborn child.” She started crying again.
John couldn’t speak, but tears were coming down from his eyes.
The doctor looked at Ringo like he had made the biggest mistake in his life.
“Excuse me.” The doctor said pushing Ringo aside. The doctor sat down between John and Sarah and tried to calm them down.
George and Paul took Ringo outside with them.
“You fool!” George said. Ringo didn’t know what to do.

When they sat down in the waiting room again Ringo started sobbing.
“Oh My goodness, what did I do? What did I say? I didn’t do it on purpose….” he said.
Paul put his arm around him and told him it was okay.
“Yeah, it was a bit foolish, but…well you can’t be blamed really. You stood up for them and tried to do the best.” George said.
“Exactly…” Ringo said. “ So…so you guys aren’t angry with me?”
“Nooo!” Paul and George said hugging their friend.

“Ooh a group hug.” Hannah said smiling as she, Jantina and Olivia came back.
Ringo ran to his wife and hold her real tight.
“What’s all this about?” Hannah asked.
“Well, let’s just say he said something…stupid.” George said.
“Oh well that happens more often, right love?” Hannah said kissing Ringo.

“How are they doing? Any news yet?” Jantina asked Paul sitting down next to him.
“Yes, John’s awake.” Paul said smiling.
“What?” Jantina said getting up and bumping her head to the same shelf that Paul hurt himself on before. “Ouch!”
“Hahaha, isn’t that great?” Olivia said. “Have you called Mister Martin and his wife yet?”
“No we haven’t.” Ringo said.
“Oh I’ll do it then.” Olivia said. George ran after her. “I’ll go with you.”

After a couple of hours waiting in the waiting room playing some cards or watching TV the nurse came walking in again.
“I think it’s best for you all to go home now.” She said. “Mister Lennon is stabilized now and Miss Lennon is asleep. They’re going to be okay. You can come back tomorrow and visit them.”
“But it’s already 9 o clock in the morning. It IS tomorrow.” Jantina said.
“Okay, okay. Well you can all visit them. Two at a time. So who’s coming first?” the nurse asked.
They decided it George and Olivia were the ones to go first. When they got back, they said goodbye to Hannah, Ringo, Paul and Jantina to go home and get some sleep.
Then Hannah and Ringo got in to see John and Sarah.

“Paul?” Jantina said putting her head on Paul’s chest.
“Yes?” He answered.
“Does John know about their son?”
“Yes, Rings accidentally told him.” Paul said.
“How did he react?” Jantina asked looking at Paul.
“Well, he cried. I mean…he lost his child. John would have loved to have another son…” Paul said. “Imagine them with their two sons…”
“Let’s not do that.” Jantina said. “It will only make it worse…It makes me sad. They’re such a good family.”
They just sat there when Paul suddenly sighed.
“Why that sigh?” Jantina asked.
“Life is strange.” Paul said. “I mean…the two of us…. well just think of what we were doing when John and Sarah were struggling to stay alive in their car…”
“I know. Ssssh. Please don’t say more.” Jantina said as she closed her eyes.
