I just listened to Instant Karma(for what I thought was the first time) and then I realized that I've been listenin to this song since before I could walk...I feel so ashamed.

actually it's like that for a lot of beatles songs for me! I grew up singing Hey Jude and I Saw Her Standing There on karaoke and just like in the last year found out they were beatles songs.

I had this happen to me... twice. And they were Beatle songs too The first was Yellow Submarine. I remember walking down the school hall in 1st grade, and sining "We all live in a yellow submarine, we hate the stupid thing, we want to paint it green..." and thinking those were the actual words. Whenever I saw the real lyrics I would think "ppffft those people are stupid" it wasn't until years later when I learned the real lyrics and who sang them. The next was Twist and Shout. I was sitting in my Dads office (at home) and I had it on repeat, but I had no clue who sang it. I could just imagine these 50's black group, and thinking they were the coolest thing. I always did love the backups, and imagined them snapping their fingers while the lead singer (while wearing sun glasses and screaming... yeah it came as a pleasant shock when I found out how off I was... I have tons more just like those, but I don't want to bore you more
